Animation
The new shape keys on the clothing are created at build time, so the clothing's renderer does not have them while you edit. For that reason, you make animations against this component. At build time those curves are converted into shape key curves on the clothing's renderer.
Recording
- Open a clip in the Animation window and press the record button.
- Move the Default value slider on the clothing's Shape Key Transfer entry.
- A key is added at the current time. While recording, the component's Default value is not changed.
To add a single key without recording, click Add key to current clip on the entry.
Things to know
- Recording and Add key to current clip work only when a parent of this clothing has an Animator whose controller contains the open clip. The key path is relative to that Animator. Otherwise the button is disabled and no key is added while recording.
- Clips store the value as the
blendShape.<name>property ofShape Key Transfer. That property does not actually exist while you edit, so the Animation window shows "Missing", and playing the clip does not move the clothing in the scene. You can still edit the key values and times. - Animation is linked by shape key name. If you change Name on clothing on the entry, curves recorded under the old name lose their link. At build time these curves are removed and a warning is left in the NDMF console.
